Basic Wood Flooring Installation Concepts
When a weekend warrior attacks a wood flooring project for their home there are some basic concepts that should be understood regardless of the type of wood floor you are installing. First of all you need to determine the type of floor you are going to use in your project. This could be limited by the type of subfloor, the height limitations and whether you are above or below grade. Once you determine the type of floor you plan on using you can then decide if you plan on installing the flooring unfinished or prefinished.
If you are thinking of purchasing prefinished wood floors for a your new or existing home in Your County, State Name, you should first seek assistance from Your Company Name for the most qualified and up to date information. Prefinished wood flooring when first introduced was very different than the products produced today in a number of different ways. Number one was the type of finish used way back when which was primarily a baked in seal a wax type of coating system. Today’s finishes are almost exclusively an Ultra-Violet Cured Urethane finish. The most obvious difference in the two methods is that the seal and wax type finished floors were soaked into the pours of the wood and laid on and beneath the surface of the wood flooring. UV Cured urethanes have the majority of the finish coatings laying on top of the surface as more of a protective coating.
